2010 Irvine PONY 8U Pinto Kid Pitch A All-Star Team

The Irvine PONY 8U Pinto Kid Pitch A team cruised to its second straight tournament victory this past weekend outscoring opponents 55-2 over the course of four games. They racked up victories over  Newport Harbor A, Irvine B, Newport Harbor B and Seal Beach A.

Of note offensively, Connor Kentros went 5 for 5 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 BB; Grant Lockwood went 5 for 8 with a triple, 5 RBI and 2 BB; Grant Martine went 5 for 7 with 3 triples, 5 RBI and 3 BB; Jamie McMullen went 4 for 7 with a triple, an RBI and 2 BB; Anthony Nemeth went 6 for 9 with a double and 6 RBI; and Andy Park went 7 for 10 with 3 doubles, 8 RBI and 1 BB. As a team the boys are batting .467, .460 with runners in scoring position.

The team's pitchers continued to dominate the opposition as Park, Justin Goldstein and McMullen combined for a 2 hit shutout of Newport Harbor A; Jakob Ho and Lockwood combined for a 1 hit shutout of Irvine B; Will Rudy, Kentros and Trevor Klein combined for a 1 hit, 2 run game against Newport Harbor B; and Nemeth, Mick Hyodo, Aidan Klimon and Martine combined for a 2 hit shutout of the Seal Beach A team. The boys carry a team ERA of 1.74 with seven of the boys having not allowed an earned run over the course of the pre-All-Star tournament season.
